Notice of Cancellation of Domains

All the relevant information on the subject of domain name cancellation is to be found in this section.

A domain can be cancelled at any time, but it must be done by the owner of the domain. Notice of cancellation must be given in writing and must be either signed by the owner or include the official company signature. We are sorry but domain providers cannot accept any cancellations via email.

Notices of cancellation can be accepted up to 6 weeks (42 days) at the latest before the domain name is set to expire.

The respective period of service can be seen on your invoice or online in the customer’s area. If notice of cancellation arrives too late, a new period of service must be invoiced – even if the cancellation is done promptly. Unpaid invoices from former service periods remain valid even after notice of cancellation or cancellation of domain has taken place and have to be paid.

A domain can be cancelled with immediate effect or after the current registration has expired. Your domain will be blocked from the date of cancellation and will then be no longer activated. Following this block (approx. 8 weeks) the domain can be assigned a new party by the domain providers.

The notice of cancellation of your domain only affects your domain; it does not affect any other internet services such as any other server housing or webspace you make use of. In the case you cancel a domain, no other internet services (website, email) can be run in this domain. This is also the case for all subdomains of this domain.
