Our Technology: Standard vs. PLUS webhosting plans
All EDIS hosting plans work with, by default, suPHP. By using this technology, every click on your website causes a 22 MB php-binary file to be opened which translates the requested PHP file before shutting down again. Thanks to enormous amounts of RAM in our servers, huge amounts of static user content can be cached in fast RAM, but PHP-files need to be "translated" on every single click again and again.
EDIS PLUS hosting packages offer state of the art PHP technology, which utilizes a caching technology called "pre-emptive opcode cache". Compared with standard PHP webhosting plans, our PLUS PHP system runs as a "server application” which results in a major reduction in your websites RAM usage.
The major advantage is the combination of this technology with that of a fast opcode cache system. PHP files don't need to be recompiled on every single click because translated versions of the files already exist which are kept in ultra-fast memory and can be accessed without delays. This technology helps speed up page response times and increase page loading speeds on your website. Furthermore, with an increase in the response time (latency speed), this makes users “feel” a "sensational" speed-up of your website.
Backup Insurance: RESTORE+
