A change of provider or registrar is understood to be a transfer of the technical administration (name service) and the billing of a domain from one provider or registrar to another one.
Some good reasons why you should change your provider and come to EDIS:
The transfer is done in no time. If the email address in the WHOIS data set at NIC.AT is correct, the domain owner can confirm the transfer himself online, thus avoidung awkward confirmation faxes.
The previous settlement period is taken over by the domain name provider. The favourable NIC fees are not invoiced by EDIS until the next domain’s due date – all registration services of this domain are free until the next payment date.
As far as most of the top level domains are concerned (.com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .de, .ch, .ag, .cc), a yearly fee is levied on the part of the domain name provider when changing the registrar.
Before transfer can be initiated at all the domain owner has to take some action:
After a change of provider had been ordered, the ordering party will be informed about detailed requirements via email so that transfer handling can be carried out quickly. Having taken all the necessary precautions and successfully started the transfer, the domain name provider will send a confirmation mail to the email address registered at WHOIS. After the final transfer confirmation has taken place by the domain owner, it usually takes about 6 week days to have the domains transferred and be reached via the EDIS name server. Note: the former registrar has 5 days to hand in the domain. The technical modification will be done immediately by EDIS.
